ABOUT MY PRACTICE
Working from life is central to my practice, not only in the form of sitters, but also in it’s realisation of diversity. My work is characterised by a playful mingling of historical painting tradition with contemporary subject matter, exploring a humanising relief in relation to harmful queer and trans rhetoric. Activism is often a theme within my paintings, simply through the people who I choose to depict. Often within my work, I seek to not only uplift, but deify those who are ostracised under the hateful guise of institutionalised religion, creating my own Queer martyrdom in the process.
